The Glitch Project

Print

In this project, I have translated the visual appearance of a glitch through the use of textiles and trims. The intent is to stress the extent to which digital media is making all of us into dependent beings. Dependant on likes and followers to prove our self-worth. The glitch represents the blurred line that separates the real self and the virtual projection on online platforms; the glitch shows the media’s impact on individual identity that is slowly disintegrating. The translation of this image onto garments is a tangible indication that expresses the digital obsession being a part of us, merging together with the body. As the media is a temporary indulgence, so is the textile that covers the nakedness.

Here are a series of textile experiments supporting my idea which eventually is reformed into garments.
